Breckenridge Real Estate

Located at the base of the Ten Mile Range is the old Victorian town of Breckenridge. From its rich 19th century mining history to the present day “ski town”, Breckenridge offers many activities. The ski area consists of four mountains, Peaks 7 through 10. You can find every kind of skiing pleasure from flats to moguls to bowls. After skiing, take a stroll on Main Street and visit Breckenridge’s many shops, restaurants and pubs. The Edwin Carter Museum

The Breckenridge real estate market ranges from in town studios to multi-million dollar homes on the mountain side. There are many ski in/ski out condominium and townhome opportunities along 4 O’Clock ski run including Tyra Summit, River Mountain Lodge and Sawmill Creek. At the base of Peak 9 you have Beaver Run, Cedars and Liftside among others.

Breckenridge also has other property ownership opportunities in the Warrior’s Mark area in town, like Village Point and Base 9. If you are looking for a single family home in Breckenridge, subdivisions like Peak 7, the Blue River area south of Breckenridge, and the award winning The Highlands could be just what you are looking for.  We posted a blog recently about land prices in Breckenridge.  We are getting close to it being affordable only for millionaires!

The average sales price of the homes in Breckenridge is soaring!  If you bought a residential property in Breckenridge in 1997 you would have paid $245,106 on average.  Ten years later, in 2007, the average sales price has climbed to over $700,000.  Breckenridge has seen the average sales price of the properties being sold increase by double digit percentages for 6 of the last 10 years.  Some of this growth is attributed to the more expensive homes being built in the area, some of it is actual appreciation.

The Peak 8 Base area is in the process of being redeveloped with lots of real estate development going along with it. The new gondola opened winter of 2006-2007 and now whisks people directly from the parking lots at Park Avenue all the way to Peak 7 and Peak 8, after a stop in the Shock Hill neighborhood.

The Town of Breckenridge can boast that it is the only municipality in the world to own a Jack Nicklaus designed, 27-hole golf course. The Breckenridge Golf Club is situated in a beautiful mountain valley. The clubhouse sits at an elevation of 9,324 feet. At this elevation the golf ball flies farther and straighter than at lower elevations, as there is less air resistance.
