Summit County understands it is expensive to live here. We need workers in a variety of positions, not just high paying professionals. In order to keep housing more affordable for lower income earners, Summit County has made some properties available only for people that live and work in the county. No second homeowners allowed!
Those properties are known as deed restricted properties. Some properties have limits on appreciation or income. Other properties can be owned by someone out of state as long as someone that works in the county lives there full time. Each property can be different but they all share the restriction that the occupant must live and work in the county for a minimum of 30 hours a week.
If you like new construction there have been several recent developments of deed restricted homes around the county. You have to get in on these early in the process as they generally sell out.
