Keystone Area Info

Unlike Frisco & Dillon, Keystone does not have an actual downtown area.  It is basically the ski area that has sprawled out towards Montezuma on one end and meets Dillon on the other.  Because of the sprawl, Keystone offers a free shutlle to most area properties.  Most noteworthy if you prefer not to pay to park nor make the trek from the free parking lots.  Keystone has relatively limited business space.  As a result, you will only find shops and restaurants at the base of the ski mountain, along Highway 6 and around Keystone Lake.

Keystone Golf Courses

Keystone is home to two championship golf courses, Keystone Ranch and The River Course.  The River Course at Elk Run opened late summer of 2000 and, from what we hear, is a great course that should be experienced by all golfers.

Dining in Keystone

Keystone is a year-round resort with lots of excitement and things to do. It is home to some wonderful restaurants, among them, Ski Tip Lodge, Keystone Ranch and Alpenglow Stube. The Keystone Culinary Institue is a very well known chef school and, as a result, the resort takes the best for their restaurants.

Keystone Real Estate

Whether it is a ski condo, townhome or a mountain home you are looking for, Keystone has many types of properties. Newer condos are in the River Run area at the base of the Gondola, with an exciting village complete with restaurants and retail spaces. All buildings are relatively close to the lifts and the gondola is now on the right side of the river so that it will be even closer than it was.

Lakeside/Lakeshore, Montezuma, and Plaza Condo complexes, to name just a few are around the lake. These complexes have the benefit of close proximity to the Conference Center, by way of a tunnel under the road. They are nice summer properties because they surround the skating pond, which has paddle boats and ducks when the weather is warm.

Across the highway are Tennis Townhomes, Sts John, Enclave and Quicksilver. Near the lifts at the “old” base area, you have Chateaux D’Mont, Cinnamon Ridge, Key Condo, Slopeside and other complexes with a great location. Whether it is a condo or a townhome, they have something for everyone.

Heading down Montezuma Road are mainly single family homes and townhomes. It’s a more remote area that, as a result, has seen new development recently including the Alders, and Dercum Tracts.

Keystone Ranch offers the finest in single family homes nestled in the trees along the golf course.

Keystone Resort is a Vail Resorts property, therefore, many benefits including lift tickets are shared with both Vail and Breckenridge.  Another way to capitalize on the Vail Resorts relationship, if you choose to, is with Keystone Resort Property Managment. They do short term rentals for many owners and are also the property manager for many of the Home Owner Associations and, similarly, owned by Vail Resorts.
