As a buyer you can elect to use whichever mortgage lender you choose for the loan on your new property.
Often times mortgage lenders outside Summit County are not familiar with the specific challenges that can come up in a second home/resort market like ours. We would recommend you choose a local mortgage provider for your Summit County transaction. We have listed a few below that we have had good experiences dealing with. There are many more great mortgage providers out there so don’t feel you must limit yourself to those below.

There are other things to be aware of when choosing a mortgage lender for your home purchase. What type of loan will you be getting? If you are buying your primary residence, there are loan programs available that will allow you to put down less than 20%. Are you buying a condo or single family home? Single family homes are generally less complicated than condos. Land purchases are a completely different mortgage loan as are timeshares or partial ownerships. How is the market? A seller’s market will let the seller have more say about what mortgage lender you use. When in doubt, we can point you in the best direction for your particular situation. Remember, when you are buying in a smaller, more rural or vacation market, your mortgage provider matters even more.
