Located at the base of the Ten Mile Range is the old Victorian town of Breckenridge. From its rich 19th century mining history to the present day “ski town”, Breck offers many activities. With the fairly recent ski area expansion, you can now ski five peaks, Peaks 6 through 10 . You can find every kind of skiing pleasure from flats to moguls to bowls. After skiing, take a stroll on Main Street and visit the many shops, restaurants and pubs in town.
Breckenridge Real Estate
The Breckenridge real estate market ranges from in town studios to multi-million dollar homes on the mountain side. There are many ski in/ski out condominium and townhome opportunities along 4 O’Clock ski run including Tyra Summit, River Mountain Lodge and Sawmill Creek. At the base of Peak 9 you have Beaver Run, Cedars and Liftside among others.
There are other property ownership opportunities in the Warrior’s Mark area in town, options like Village Point and Base 9. If you are looking for a single family home in Breckenridge, subdivisions like Peak 7, the Blue River area south of Breckenridge, and the award winning neighborhood, The Highlands, near the golf course could be just what you are looking for.
The Peak 8 Base area has gone through the process of being redeveloped with lots of newer real estate development coming along with it. The gondola opened the winter of 2006-2007 and now whisks people directly from the parking lots at Park Avenue all the way to Peak 7 and Peak 8, after a stop in the Shock Hill neighborhood.
The average sales price of the homes in Breckenridge continues to soar! If you bought a residential property in Breck in 1997 you would have paid $245,106 on average. Ten years later, in 2007, the average sales price climbed to over $700,000. And ten years after that, in 2017, the average is up to $916,269. Some of this growth was attributed to the more expensive homes being built in the area, some of it was actual appreciation. Even with the increase in home values Breckenridge remains one of the best overall values for an upscale ski resort market.
Breckenridge Golf Course
The Town of Breckenridge can boast that it is the only municipality in the world to own a Jack Nicklaus designed, 27-hole golf course. The Breckenridge Golf Club is situated in a beautiful mountain valley. The clubhouse sits at an elevation of 9,324 feet. At this elevation the golf ball flies farther and straighter than at lower elevations, as there is less air resistance.
