There’s been talk for a few years that Copper would be developing the A-Chair area with a hotel. Preliminary drawings are out and plans are now in the works for Copper’s new A-Lift development called Born Mountain Club.
The A-Lift
For those of us that love the A-Chair ski runs, which are long, black bump runs, this is disappointing news. Change is always hard and the thought of this relatively quiet area overflowing with hotel visitors is not too appealing. Currently, a small, pay parking lot is also available there. This lot is just a few steps to the chair lift, a feature most big mountains have already lost, and one that Copper will be losing before long. On the bright side, the slow chair lift may get a much needed upgrade. One other bright spot, if you have millions of dollars to spend on a ski-in ski-out home, Copper’s new A-lift development might be the perfect place for you.
Development Plans
The plans call for a hotel, a few townhomes and a few single family homesites. Copper Mountain’s new development is relatively small but will offer easy ski and golf access for a nice year round location.
Change is inevitable and I’m sure Copper Mountain will benefit from adding another hotel and luxury homes on the mountain. I hope they don’t mess with the ski mountain too much. We are not golfers so are not sure how this impacts the golf course, if at all. I am crossing my fingers that they have figured out how construct this new A-lift development without taking away too much from the ski and golf experience.
