Friday the 13th was a lucky day for the 2020/2021 ski season. It was Breckenridge Ski Resorts opening day! Breckenridge makes the 3rd Summit County ski mountain to open and the 4th of our area ski resorts open now. The remaining nearby resorts will open just before or after Thanksgiving.Ski areas opening days
Keystone was the first to open this year taking the honors from A-Basin. A-Basin wasn’t far behind with a afternoon opening on a snowy day. Loveland followed and then Breckenridge. Copper is scheduled to open November 30th and nearby resorts, Vail & Beaver Creek, are scheduled to open November 20th & 25th respectively.
Snow!
Snow has been late to come with warmer than normal temperatures this fall. I am a little surprised we have four area ski resorts open now but, luckily, the weather pattern recently changed. We have been seeing much needed snow every few days. Most areas have about an 18″ base and a couple of runs open. Hopefully it won’t be long before we have more terrain available allowing for easier social distancing and a greater capacity.
Reserve your spot
To limit mountain capacity this season, resorts have put some sort of reservation systems in place. This season you must plan ahead. No spur of the moment ski days. Check out the links to your favorite resorts and don’t miss out on your days on the mountain this season.
