Construction has been underway on the new Base Camp commercial development for nearly a year now. Whole Foods, the anchor store and the first of the stores in the development, has opened as scheduled. April 29th had grand opening day festivities that included a live band, a clam bake & free food samples. Whole Foods in Frisco didn’t wait until opening day to start the fun though. A sneak peek opening took place the weekend prior. The weather was cold and snowy, a frequent occurrence in April in Summit County, but that didn’t keep the shoppers away. Turn out was good and remains good. This Summit Daily News article gives additional information about the new Whole Foods, Frisco, or visit the Whole Foods website. Additional stores planned for this development include Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant that should open this June. The Frisco restaurant will be the seventh Colorado location for the chain that got its start in Fort Collins. They say they have the best dang margaritas this side of the Rio Grande. I guess we’ll find out soon.
