Why hire a real estate agent is a topic I am passionate about so I will try not to spend too much time on my soap box here. It is so important to me because, obviously, both Jason and I make our living as real estate agents. We work hard for our clients. It’s hard not to take it personally when some people don’t see any value in what we do. It’s hard not to take it personally when people think that someone with little to no training can do an equally good job. Like with most occupations, the public only sees a small part of what we do every day. And, as expected, their opinion of our value is formed out of what they see.
Behind the Scenes
My daughter is a manager at a very busy restaurant. The behind the scenes glimpse I get of the restaurant business is very different than the impression I get when I go out to eat; as it should be. I don’t want to see the stress involved behind the scenes. I want a good tasting dinner that is exactly what I ordered. Because my experience is great and appears easy, it doesn’t mean the staff is not doing anything to make that happen. It often means they are doing everything exceptionally well and just making it look easy. That is exactly what we hope and plan for in all of our real estate transactions. The buyers and sellers walk away thinking that was easy, pleasant, great. Meanwhile, we are wiping away the tears, tossing and turning every night, and drinking too much. Just a little joke here but one that hopefully drives my point home.
Don’t Hire a Real Estate Agent…
The quick, two minute video below tells you not to hire a real estate agent to sell your home or to find you a home to buy. However, it does tell you why to hire a real estate agent; perhaps with a little more behind the scenes explanation.
