Every April the 9News Health Fair comes to Summit County and brings with it several no or low cost health evaluations. This year you can attend the health fair in Breckenridge, at Colorado Mountain College. The health fair is only in town one day and just for four hours. Put April 6th on your calendar and get out there between 8am and 12noon.
If you are getting any/all of the blood tests done save some time and register online. However, they don’t give refunds though so if you don’t make it there on April 6th you are probably out the money.
Generally there are plenty of booths with great offerings. Find out about local, elder care services, or test your blood pressure. Have your BMI checked and receive healthy eating tips. You can have a skin cancer screening, a hearing test, or an eye test. These extra screening vary every year. The only screening I can say for sure will be available is the blood screening.
Jason & I have had the blood test done every year for around 7 years. The results are available to us online and a printed report comes in the mail. Because we go every year, we are able to compare our results year to year and better monitor our health. After we both had low vitamin D test results, we began taking a supplement and, as a result, got our vitamin D levels in line.
It certainly takes a host of local volunteers to put on the health fair in Breckenridge. Our thanks to everyone that gives their time and that of their business and employees to provide these great services to our community.
